Why Do Tweets Disappear?-- What to Do
As my students set up their Twitter accounts for the class discussion and started some practice posts, we noticed one logistical problem. Although showing up initially, their tweets would disappear from the conversation after a short time. I took it to Steve Katz (@stevekatz) in EdTech. His advice:
make sure that they’ve confirmed their email addresses,
put in a profile picture, and
fill out some information in the profile section. For example, “I love basketball,” or “Tweeting for English Class.”
If you don’t take these three steps, then Twitter likely reads the account as spam. After the kids went through this process, their tweets stayed in the conversation and we were off to the races.
